Kelly would seem to have a great selling point to recruit top players on defense

LSU has an explosive offense that no team in the country can ever defend against, all it takes now are players like you on defense to get a championship.

Well we have a pretty uniquely talented kid playing qb thst helps tremendously with that. He will not be here going forward. I'm not on the Nuss Buss so they're gonna have to show me they can produce without a special qb talent we get to watch mold into a star right before our eyes. Don't see a star on the roster at that position beyond Daniels. Think the portal is gonna be our friend there if we choose wisely. Some talented kids ought to be there.
As for the pitch, if it works go with it. Quite possible they end up arse backwards into a pretty solid class if a couple of things work out on the DL. Especially considering the mess we have there on the coaching front. Not great but salvageable.

It's all about putting it together in one season. Defense could improve substantially next year but who knows if there will be a huge drop off in offensive production when we lose JD, Nabers, and probably BTJ.

The problem is teams are negative recruiting House and Steeples.
Not a good look with national eyes on LSU vs Florida State and playing a dynamic playmaker like Harold Perkins out of position. Not a good look at all if your talented and want to shine.
House doesn't like to recruit. Thats another problem. Then look at Steeples and Cook. Then you factor in no dline coach.
