LSU’s last 2 seasons before Brian Kelly

11-12 overall record.

LSU’s first 20 games with Brian Kelly

14-6 overall record.

I know we would love to be 20-0 right now in those games, but the fact of the matter is if you can’t see the improvement, you’re blind. Kelly will have us on the mountaintop again, just need a new DC.

Need to improve in recruiting defensive players as well

I think people are disappointed with having an entire offseason and losing your season opener two years in a row. Not to mention, not a single person picked A&M to beat lsu last year.

Consistency is what this fan base needs. There are some very talented teams left on this schedule.

Let’s see how they play against a d line like Texas A&M or a rejuvenated Alabama offense.

Wtf is he waiting on? You’re not seeing something else nobody else is. BK better find himself the top defensive recruiter / coordinator… and fast! So far as a HC, I don’t think anyone is impressed

Considering he hired the defensive staff and recruited a majority of the players(the portal can't be used as a hedge then dismissed to fit a narrative) I think there's room to be disappointed. He's improved us from where we were for sure but he's also getting paid to be better than an 8-3 coach. While we are an unreasonable fanbase with expectations that don't fit, we also aren't naive. Kelly has some issues he needs to correct pronto or we are gonna be shelling out millions paying him to sit on the couch.

I’ll get a hundred downvotes but O left this team in shambles. It would be different if our 3 yr players would have stayed but they didn’t so the shamble remained another year. And some of these rantards are hyping up hiring Prime. Can you imagine the irreparable damage LSU football would suffer if we fired Kelly for another clown show? (Rantards, the downvote button is at the bottom right).

So knowing what we know, Here's the original 2020 schedule:

UTSA - W
Texas - Probable L
Rice - W
OM - W
Nicholls - W
@Florida - W
@Arkansas - W
MSU - L
Bama - L
USC - W
@AU - L
@aTm - L

So LSU probably finishes 7-5 there (Could O have beaten Texas in week 2 with Brennan? Who knows). 13-11 isn't much better, but there is a difference.

Kelly is being paid an exorbitant amount of money and he couldn't get an elite DC to come work for him.

LSU had to make House, a guy who had little experience as a DC, one of the highest paid coordinators in the country to come here.

It amazes me the complete lack of understanding so much of this board has about the situation in which Kelly came into.

It’s said often, but apparently it hasn’t set in.

WE HAD BACK TO BACK SEASONS OF 5-5 and 6-7 AND WERE LEFT WITH A HALF EMPTY CUPBOARD GOING INTO THE 2021/2022 OFFSEASON.

Has Kelly been perfect? No, but we’re in a much better spot than we were 2 years ago and WAY ahead of schedule.

The foundation is still being laid and we’re competing for the west.

This isn’t 2016 or 2005. If you want to make a comparison to timeline of the program, I’d argue 2001/2002 the closest comparison.

If we make the SECCG we won’t be favored and it would be a huge upset of UGA.

Recency bias is plaguing this fan base.
