This has been brewing for several weeks. Tough break for truly one of the truly good guys in the coaching profession. Unfortunately, Comeaux happens to be in arguably the state's best Class 5A district and has taken its share of lumps from Barbe, St. Thomas More and Sulphur. Don't know the future of the district and whether it will remain the same or break up but based on that area of town Comeaux will always have good numbers to choose from and should be competitive.

i always really liked coach langlinais and thought he was a good coach, hate to see that happen to him.
he was my tight ends coach back in the day and i know he was a step up from coach martin and a lot better fit than coach dupree ever was.

i think thats a different dupree. the one im talking about took over my senior year in 99 and i think he was there 2 or 3 years and left for texas for more money.

yeah he was from north louisiana coached at airline before going to comeaux. I never really cared for him but he turned the team around before leaving. From what i heard when he left he said something to the effect of "god brought me to lafayette but the money is calling me to texas".

Dupe left to take a coordinator position in Texas he was offered. He came back because he wanted his kids to grow up in Lafayette, I think.

Ive never heard that quote but I think most knew thats why he left. His player play inspired football.

I was one of the ones praying this day would come and now that it finally has I kinda feel bad for the man. He lived for Comeaux football even though he wasnt very good at coaching it. The program as a whole will be better with this move and I wish them nothing but sucess.
