I am in a 12 man league. I got lucky and wound up with Bijan, Derek Henry, Kamara, and David Montgomery. I am weaker on WR and TE. I proposed a trade of David Montgomery for Brandon Aiyuk, but he countered for me receiving TJ Hockenson. I have Higbee currently. Is that a good trade for me?

I think Aiyuk AND Hockenson is a pretty fair trade for Montgomery

I would NOT trade him for just Hockenson

I see the appeal of trading him for Aiyuk in your scenario since you already have 3 good RBs.

Who are your other WRs and is this a PPR league?

Honestly I would trade Henry and look for a better receiver option then what you are proposed or countered. Not bc of Tajae but bc the offense is terrible. Monty has a good chance to score every week ROS. You may be able to get more on name value coming off big week

not enough for monty imo.

this thread surprises me. i have aiyuk and don't even need a rb, but i would gladly trade him for monty. easily. if i had monty it would take two good players for me to even consider it.

monty is one of only a handful of rbs getting all the goal line work as a starting rb.

Not the best trade you can do.. but remember you can only play 3 running back max.

I just traded for hock myself and only gave up Christian Watson and courtland Sutton. I’d wait till for the asking price to go down. I also don’t like monty for aiyuk straight up although I feel that’s a minority opinion. The 49ers have a lot of mouths to feed, and have a great defense meaning they won’t be airing it out late in games or having crazy high shootouts.

Personally I try and find a better target with someone desperate for a rb. I would also trade Henry over Montgomery… especially if it’s ppr

TJ Hockenson is currently TE4 with 13.1 PPR points per game. Tyler Higbee is TE16 with 7.9 PPR points a game. And for the comment about streaming...I think Higbee's production is a pretty good approximation of what a streamer would give you.

We can quibble about Montgomery's value and whether he should ship out Henry or Kamara instead- but trading 1 of his 4 running backs for Hockenson would help his team score more points. I don't think that's really arguable.

I would probably keep all of those running backs. Depth at RB is good and bye weeks are coming and injuries will happen and it is a long season. The only one of those RB's I would trade is Henry and I wouldn't trade him for a TE. Rather than trade away good RB's I would work the waiver wire.
