By focusing on former president Trump and his MAGA (Make America Great Again) supporters, the official said, the Bureau runs the risk of provoking the very anti-government activists that the terrorism agencies hope to counter.

"Especially at a time when the White House is facing Congressional Republican opposition claiming that the Biden administration has 'weaponized' the Bureau against the right wing, it has to tread very carefully," says the official.

Every poster on this site has been no doubt cataloged and identified, and then put on a list some huge group in a 3 letter federal agency is maintaining.

I've never lead any calls to action, nor answered any calls to action, that would threaten to cause any violence or destruction ever. Prior to 2020, I'd have thought that would be enough to keep me in bounds as far as whom the government would want to silence.

I no longer think that anymore. Even posting that you're a Trump supporter here on TD is likely enough to make you a target in the age we now live in. Maybe you're safe for now. But in the next 5-10 years, who knows? People who merely walked into the Capitol building 2 years are serving 12.. 16... 18 year sentences while a guy in Baltimore who's been convicted of rape and attempted murder is able to freely walk the streets and then rape and murder the CEO of a tech company.

Ah - but who did he vote for?
