Surprised no one had posted this already. RIP Russell Batiste Jr. He was a hell of a drummer and could certainly lay down that New Orleans funk like no other. I saw him countless times with Bonerama and George Porter Jr.
Not a good week for drummers. Dom Famolaura passed away last week, he was a drumming legend.

Russ was a NOLA legend and deserved more notoriety than he got. King of NOLA funk for sure. RIP

Wow, one of the best days I ever had at Jazz Fest started with Krown, Washington & Batiste at the Gentilly stage. Now 2/3 of them are gone. RIP
