It wasn’t the style of soccer he liked though…he could generate tons of space for himself playing in the middle and rip the long shots he was so good at. There may be more to this than what was said, but if your son playing left forward covered an otherwise weaker position compared to the drop off playing in the center by his replacement there, why wouldn't the coach do that? It seems logical, and your son was still a starter.
