Gigging Flounder in Bay St Louis

Going to try and gig some flounder next weekend in bay st. louis. anyone ever done this? if so, where would be the best place to try? any tips would be helpful.

Yes. Anywhere off the beach is good. Try to find some sand bars. Go on an incoming tide/high tide.

Just be aware of stingrays. One of my cousins took a barb to the shin years ago when he mistook a ray for a flounder when gigging at night.

If you look up NOAA charts 11367 and 11372 you’ll see the depths from Bayou Caddy to Broken Bottle Beach. That whole stretch from Bayou Caddy north and the east toward BSL is listed as 1…all of that I think is ideal. There are spots on 11372 that jut out 1 pretty far as well.

We shifted schools at the last second this summer, dropped LSU and A&M since they both focused on ‘24s, went to UGA, Auburn, UF, Arkansas and Ole Miss.
Everything is fluid though, we just couldn't travel everywhere.
