Have a few more modern AKs in the safe and decided to add a little more of a throw back, most recently. This is an Hungarian AK-55 build by Vince Buckles with Michigan Kinetics. He built it on a SLR 100 receiver. It has a lot of numbers matching parts but it wasn't a complete kit. Added some nicer Russian wood and a Tapco G2 trigger. He did a worn cerakote finish on it. Found a few old Hungarian ribbed mags for it as well. Haven't shot it yet, but it won't be a total safe queen!

Gorgeous rifle I would love to add a wood furniture ak to my collection. The ak platform just does it for me. Simple, dependable and accurate enough to get the job done. It’s the definition of keep it simple stupid.

Never go wrong with a type 3 AK. Something about them has a presence that stamped AKs don't have.

Im not a big fan of milled. At least on the yugo m64 underfolder i have it is just alot of unnecessary weight.
Anyone that doesnt have one of the hungarian amd-65 sidefolders should find one. By far my favorite ak.
