Idk if yall knew this or but Armenia is a member of the CSTO which is basically the Russian version of NATO. Armenia appealed to Russia for help last year and Russia did basically nothing. Other members (aka the stan countries of central asia) of the CTSO have to be watching this and wondering if they are should find a new ally. All of those oil and gas rich central Asian countries still send their natural gas to Russia before it goes to China. China is probably licking its lips and getting ready to cut out the middle man (aka Russia) with pipe lines from the stans directly to China and there is nothing Putin can do about it.

Armenia tried to play both sides and buddy with NATO while being in an alliance with Russia.

Armenians in the Nagorno region have been fighting with Azerbaijan for decades. The rest of the world recognizes this reason as belonging to Azerbaijan. I don't think this means if Armenia proper got invaded that Putin wouldn't help

Armenia trigger the CSTO’s version of article 5 in the summer of 2022 and all Russia did was hold a meeting and send a few advisors. So yeah I am pretty sure that Russia would not come to the aid Armenia or any other CSTO member if they were invaded. That is why Kazakhstan and the other CSTO members told Putin to kick ricks when he asked for help last fall after the Ukrainians pushed russia out of the Kharkiv oblast and recaptured Kherson.

Russia’s military production is going to be focused on replenishing its military forces for the foreseeable future. That means that China will have an opportunity to move into the military sales sector of those countries. The stans will also make more money by being able to cut out Russia in their oil and gas sales to China. The Stans need that money and military gear to keep their regimens in power and keep islamists from taking over. I think we can all agree that islamists taking over more oil and gas rich countries that don’t like the west is a bad thing.
