How old were your girls when you got "serious"?
My daughter is 9 and enjoys coming to the course, hitting balls, etc. Her swing is nothing great. She doesn't always hit the ball, but likes trying. When should I start with a beginner lesson?

That’s great man - she loves spending time with you - my older one started at age 4 but didn’t have a lesson till age 6… little one started sooner just because the older one
My best advice is find the best local teacher regardless of price and start with them - better to use your money on high end coaching then better equipment so if there is a budget - get good lessons and get less expensive clubs
Also - my opinion - NEVER NEVER NEVER do group lessons - no way to kill a kids interest in golf more and have them learn less - maybe a clinic to get them interested - but invest in weekly lessons and then work on it
Best coach isn’t necessarily the most expensive one - if you give me your approximate location I’ll try to find a good one for you :)
