College coaches don't care what you do in high school district tournaments, they want to see what you do against tough competition on tough golf courses. The boys play from around 6300-6500 yards in high school district matches and that isn't long enough for them to see how they will play in college which is from the tips at around 6800 yards and up.

If you shoot 66-71 as a 17 year old girl with no weight training, dietician, or other resources big colleges have, I don’t think backing her up a few yards is gonna make her skill set less lol. This isn’t a college male playing the woman Tees. State is Next Tuesday which will be a more difficult course, I’ll give an update then.

BTW she started the round Birdie, Birdie, Bogey, Birdie.

It sounds like she's very good but backing up 300 yards or more can make a huge difference in what your score is, especially a female. It can mean the difference between an 7 or 8 iron in to a long iron or fairway wood, I bet there would be a few par 4s that she couldn't reach in 2. We had a girl play with the high school boys from the blue tees in a summer tournament league and she went from shooting low 70s to high 80s because of the distance. I'm sure she's good she just has to up the level of competition and course difficulty. If she lives in SE Arkansas, she needs to play Mystic Creek, that is a good test if golf, one if the hardest courses I've ever played.

Most classes are all secured if she’s a senior - best advice would be if she believes in herself - she needs to walk on somewhere local and if she’s good at that point she has a resume that can transfer up…
