at the time i thought i did. friend fell onto a beer bottle cutting every nerve, tendon and artery in his wrist. Blood was pumping out of him like crazy. i took my shirt off and wrapped it around his wrist. Fire department, was a couple blocks away, came a minute later. I was 14 and didn't know people lived when wrist was slit.

Same here. Was a church 12-4 bowling outing. Girl at the scoring table starting choking. Hands to throat - classic sign. Walked up behind her - two tries, and she was good as new.
No one saw it, no one knew. But she remembers.
