Woah, man. Those of us of a certain age didn't know LSU/Arky was a made up rivalry. I just remember some awesome games and that big arse trophy. That game was rivalry weekend and I didn't know any better. I"ll always have a place in my heart for tBoot

The boot trophy is stupid but I did enjoy when Arkansas stashed it in a methy trailer park for those 2 years they borrowed it and it looked like shite. So when LSU got it back they polished Louisiana and left Arkansas looking like trash.

The concept in not. The trophy is terrible. They should have just used and old boot and bronzed it. Or made a golden boot. The boot symbolizes the two states. You do not have to have some massive trophy that 3 players have to carry.

Yes, it's a game against a border state school. And I don't mind the Boot trophy.
But that doesn't make it a rivalry.

While I agree that Arkansas is not a rival, and the boot is stupid, how is Tulane not our rival? We've played Tulane more than Alabama, Auburn, or Florida. The history of the game is older than the one with any of those three schools. And Tulane is in our state.

Completely agree with you. The boot trophy is made up garbage, from an idiot Hog worshipper, that cheapens the game. Rivalries are born from years of hard fought battles that often trade back and forth and are earned, not from a “fabricated” trophy.
