It seems it is adequate at 2 lanes.
There are now four subdivisions that feed into it over a 2 mile span (UClub, Lexington, Woodstock, UClub South) and it is a major artery to/from Iberville Parish. Two lanes is completely inadequate for that.

It is impossible to get in/out of those subdivisions with traffic in the mornings and afternoons. UC pays to have a cop stop westbound traffic to let their cars get out. Shame on the city & state leaders past and present who have been too lazy address this up front. Somebody always has to die first.

Something needs to be done. If not widening, then add traffic lights and/or lower the speed limit to 45.

They let developers build these large subdivisions with only one outlet then empty on a busy road or large highway.

But certainly 30 should have been four laned a couple of decades ago. In fact we in EBR voted a tax in 2005 to four lane 30 from LSU South to Brightside/Lee but it hasn’t been done yet. Apparently Broome has other priorities.

We voted in 2015 to four lane the rest of 30 to the parish line in the MovEBR bond issue, but that’s probably decades down the road too. We have to fix up Plank Road first.

There was another wreck with a car on fire in front of Lexington a month or so ago. Luckily nobody died in that one.

This cop is more dangerous than helpful IMO. He sits in the median with his lights blinding all the cars going up and down 30. You can’t even see him standing in the road at the right times.

the builders that keep adding subdivisions off of busy two lane highway without proper infrastructure. And the idiots that would buy a home in a subdivision without adequate infrastructure to get to and from.

Plenty of blame to go around.

What a shithole

They probably won’t give me credit, but they dropped the speed limit on Highway 30 down from 55 mph to 50 mph. Should be 45, but they probably said it wasn’t justified going that low.
