think back to when this all went down nobody was happy with the miles hire the supposed top qb in the land is in your back yard and committed to texas at the time, it was a no brainer for miles and if you are honest it fired the fan base up

Wasn't RP shot in the chest during his high school years??

Ryan who?

I hope Miles isn't thinking about Ryan Perriloux, and is instead working on why his offensive genius failed to guess right on the multiple choice test and identified the wrong QB until the last game, and why Malveto managed to take great talent and mold them into an embarrassment of a defense.

Saban said last year that he had gotten RP's word that he was going to come to LSU before Saban left for the Dolphins. Heard him say it with my own ears.

He was shot by his sister's boyfriend because he wanted to pull a prank on them by jumping out of the bushes in front of his house to scare them.

It was a huge accident.

FYI - there are many stoies about Billy Cannon that people don't know about either and then there is the time he spent in jail that seems to be irevelant. His name is big as day in tiger stadium.

I can see you now. Some fat coonass with a beard. You probably wear flannel everyday. Got a call from one of your good buddies over in Livingston talking about RP and Miles. Next thing you know, you think you know shite about LSU. You say to yourself, I think I'll post on TD and be real cryptic and those guys will think I'm an insider.

Saban recruited RP at first but stopped recruiting him early. Saban said that while RP was a tremendous talent that RP had serious character issues which, in his opinion, could become a detriment to the team overall. He recommended Miles pursue Colt McCoy.

I think Miles was more concerned with gigging Texas than anything when he pursued RP. Nothing wrong with that. And no one, including Saban, can tell the future.

Wrong Bama fan. Saban said with his own mouth that he had gotten RP's word to come to LSU. But continue to make up stuff as you wish.

Texas is lucky they didn't get him. He would probably be pouting on the bench the whole year.

You're so dead on it's not even funny.

It was difficult to hear the announcers during the Texas- Tx A&M game even mention about what Colt McCoy could have done for LSU if he had come there...

Every single tiger fan wanted to sign Perilloux. The guy was given an offer because he was the USA Today player of the year and had offers from EVERY school in the nation. People easily forget how upset Texas fans were and how much of a coup it was for Miles "to keep the best talent in state." To say that we should not have offered him today is VERY hypocritical. There is no way anyone could have seen his future problems coming.

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winna! If CLM and LSU hadn't extended a scholly to RP, the entire LSU fan base would've crapped one, gigantic collective turd from BR to Okie State and back.

I love revisionist history and gnostics - you know, the nah-nah-nah-nah-nah I know something you don't, I got inside info type wishful/hopeful BS peddlers.

Not only dis Perilloux leave LSU high and dry, he kept other high profile recurits from attending LSU, thinking he had the job locked up for the next few years. This was a double whammy, that it will take years to recover from.

I'm wondering if Miles recruited Perilloux and overlooked the character stuff

Irony.

Somehow, Nick Saban...I guy who has shown thoughout his professional life that he HAS no character himself, somehow gets credit for only recruiting high character guys (Xavier Carter, anyone?) and Les Miles, a guy who no one would claim is NOT a high character guy himself gets blamed for CONTINUING to recruit the #1 recruit in the country who happened to live 50 minutes away from Tiger Stadium.

Amazing...
