He's already being paid. He could have really torn his Achilles, had surgery and is recovering. I don't know if it was faked or it happened.

The NFL only shows you what they want you to see on TV. They have cameras at every possible angle you can think of. Do you really believe that on instant replay the audience is looking at everything the NFL has? And yet they still make horrible calls on the field. Why is that?

Late to this one but I need to know. If you think it's a possibility he was paid to actually get injured, how does someone tear their Achilles on command? That's more impressive than his whole football career combined.
