What part of your out of context Trump quote do you think is relevant to this thread?

primarily blue politics in this particular case no doubt helped the prosecution. there is no way that a "primarily blue" jury is going to side with a white male accused of rape in the "believe all women" #MeToo capital of the world. come on now.

I promise you that’s now how it works when someone is facing decades of incarceration

Twitter me too people dont end up on juries. And when they do they don’t know how to make a decision that sends someone to prison.

What I'd like to know is what were the sexes of the people or person who determined jail time? Judge or jury? I'd imagine jury had to be over 50% female or judge be female to get 30 years here

What does this even mean? That I should be more understanding and sympathetic of a rapist cause I'm a dude? Sorry bubba. Seems like some of y'all are trying to rationalize your thoughts and actions.

What part of the quote troubled you so much that you felt the need to respond?
BTW, I think it would be ""out-of-context". Amirite?

I would choose to not answer in your shoes as well.

You still have said nothing about why you brought your TDS into this thread.

What are you basing this assessment and analysis on? Honestly asking. What makes juries suddenly ideologically neutral and fully objective? Were black men getting fair trials and truly impartial juries in the deep south in the sixties?

I didn't make the original comment, but I'm guessing he meant a female jury is more likely to convict based on emotion than a male jury, who would tend to look more at the facts and logic of the case. Not that a male would be sympathetic to a rapist. But maybe I misunderstood his post too.

Not to mention the prosecution overcame this exact speculation and convicted 12 strangers to unanimously find the man guilty.

After two mistrials and the judge finally allowing evidence into the case that Masterson wasn't even charged with.

At the end of the day we have to have faith that 12 strangers would come to an agreed punishment that "fit" the crime.

Men are as emotional as women. It's just that men's universal emotion for every occasion is anger.

I think we all agree that it should be hard—VERY hard—to take a human being’s freedom away. Especially in America where we—ideally—value our freedom more than any other country in the history of civilization.

Except it’s actually way too easy to send people to prison, in this country and many others. Human beings have a sick obsession with locking up one and other.

I’m a woman. And i agree with you.

Yes I do think he likely raped those women due to the fact their lives were ruined by the COS after they reported him. They’ve been harassed for years and their families won’t speak to them because they are in COS, and their careers are ruined. Still though, innocent until PROVEN guilty. Period.

I have read a few articles on the case and have yet to see anything regarding hard core evidence. The testimonies, however, are disturbing. But again, it’s just stories. I can say a man I was simply having a drink with drugged me then took me to his home without consent where I awoke in his shower to find myself being raped so violently that I puked. I could also say I was drugged and taken to a man’s home where he raped me at gunpoint then smothered me with a pillow and I vomited.

Only borderline personality disorder types like Johnny Depp’s ex make up stuff like this. I don’t think these women in the Masterson case ruined their lives just to make this up, but still, I have yet to see EVIDENCE.

The long time girlfriend basically allowed herself to be ….. I guess you could say sexually abused, maybe?? She was 18 and wasn’t comfortable, but stayed with him, so they didn’t convict on her charges.

Ladies, go to the hospital and get a rape kit IMMEDIATELY if you are raped. Just get it done. It will make things SO much easier for you going forward. SO much. NO ONE will be able to doubt you in the future. Don’t be foolish! Do what you need to do. You can’t just expect people to believe you. & remember sperm can live for 5 days. Keep that in mind if you don’t go right away. Of course this won’t apply to every situation, but you get my point. In some circumstances, victims may have a few days days to get the most damning evidence. Sperm/dna, a physical exam, and testimony
