So you are placing an electrical device in your pool ?

I wonder what could go wrong.....

Ive had a water propelled Polaris, for 15 + years, it does just fine.

How old is it? Is it exposed in the weather 24/7?

I just replaced 2 of them over the last 12 months (were under warranty) which is ridiculous considering mine lives outside, but is not exposed to the weather/rain at all.

Although it's on a GFCI outlet, I'm wondering if it had anything to do with random power surges I had throughout the past year.

Maytronics quality has gone to shite the past few years.

I've probably been using it for about 15 months now. Started my pool up around April last year after construction but didn't start using the robot for a little while after.

I would think it would be under warranty. Maybe contact your pool company first to let them know these issues and see if they'll replace it?

I went through the pool company both times to get a warranty replacement and it was a pretty painless process. I would definitely get an approximate turn around time though as the first replacement took probably 4 weeks. If not the pool company, I would contact Maytronics direct.

I had the same controller (Pentair Warrior SE robot). My controller crapped out before the two year warranty was up so I got a replacement thankfully. Mine just died one day. Tech Support told me that they shouldn’t be exposed to weather and that we shouldn’t leave the controller or the robot out everyday. I told them that is the exact opposite of the reason I bought them. If I wanted to go pick them up daily, I’d just brush and net my pool manually.

That's interesting. I've never heard that before, not even from my pool company when I inquired about that.

My robot died after 8 years so I purchased a new one last year. They use the same controller. My new controller started having the same issue where it wouldn't power on sometimes, so I grabbed the old one and it works perfectly. It was kept outside 24/7 for 8 years. I think they just have worse quality control on the newer units.

I have always picked mine up, I hate having all that shite laying out on the deck...the ONE time I left it out early summer it rained.....who knew a pool cleaner would have parts that cant get wet. And wet is not covered by warranty.
