Anybody spend time here? I have an upcoming visit and know nothing. Was there like 30 years ago and a lot can change. Staying downtown at the Holiday Inn.

I go often for work, stay at the Omni. There is a steakhouse on the top floor, nothing amazing, but good food and views. I like Vietnam downtown, probably my favorite spot. Aka has decent sushi and Thai Spice is good if you like those.
If you want to drive south a bit there is Yardarm, small place but good seafood. Railroad brewing and Nueces Brewery are both downtown, decent brews. There is a retro arcade bar downtown now too, was something different.
Hope some of this helps....

I can't believe Snoopy's is still open, but it's a pleasing setting.
I was last there nearly 30 years ago, and the drive by shootings on bicycles and the repeated stabbings of retired greyhounds were depressing as hell. The NAS golf course did have the biggest hares I've ever seen in my life, though.

The view overlooking the bay is great. The best thing they serve is their double-cut pork chop.

Any thoughts on Water Street Oyster Bar or Kings Restaurant (hour south)?
Also is the USS Lexington worth a visit? I don't have a lot of free time so maybe a drive by.

Water street is one of the oldest restaurants in CC, its been a staple for years.
King's, as in King's Inn at Rivera Beach? It's an old place that has been a bucket list for many, but it's a long drive and not sure it's worth that.
Yard Arm might be another option. If you like beer and pizza then I would recommend B&J's pizza. Granted its been years but they had very good pizza and a stellar beer selection back in the day. No where near the water though.
Snoopy's has already been mentioned - good place if you want to sit by the water. Or drive to Port A and check that out.
