Most players in season dont take that long to recover even from surgery. I remember both Jimmy Butler and Westbrook couple years ago returned pretty quickly from meniscus surgery of course during the course of the season too.

Unless his meniscus is terribly torn, he’ll be walking again in a month or so after surgery. I would say he cant play meaningful basketball for 3 months from date of surgery considering the medical care/support he will receive as an NBA athlete.

Knock on wood knowing Pelicans medical team though

Edit: With that said he’s gonna miss at least a little bit of time if he has surgery considering regular season starts Oct 25th.
