The WR was wide open on a busted coverage. Make a better throw and its an easier catch and probably a touchdown. Still should have been caught, but the quarterback made that a MUCH more difficult catch than it should’ve been. Make the throw.

I literally just watched the play again, and the ball hit BTJ in the stomach. You have to catch it in that scenario and you're in the redzone.

Multiple times LSU had their #1 receiver Nabors 1 on 1 vs man coverage. Which is exactly what you want and great opportunities for big plays. JD botched everyone of those throws giving Nabors no real chance to make the catch. Make the throw.

Those fade routes early were bad, no doubt.

It was once again very average QB play, not bad but not good either. And with LSU’s secondary problems, they are going to need more than that this year.

If the receivers catch the ball, he finishes with almost 400 yds and 60 on the ground with a couple TD's. If you take away the BTJ TD late, he finishes with over 300 and a couple td's still. To me, that isn't average.

Yea, EVERYONE agrees BJT should have caught that.

But it also needs to be acknowledged that it was poor throw by JD to a guy that was wide open making it a more difficult catch than it needed to be. And if it was a better throw, if caught, they aren’t just in the redzone on that play they are scoring a touchdown on that play.

Yes. It hit him in the stomach after he had to stop and backtrack to the ball.
