Screwed up numerous times, and when he did get the ball, he was hesitant and looked slow to me.

He looked explosive while trying to recover his muffed punt..

If he were good, he’d still be at Bama

I’m still holding out faith but will there ever be a bigger bust than the Giles kid we got from Texas tech? we gave him the 7 jersey and he had like 125 yards and cost us the A&M game

Kick returners need to sprint the second they touch the ball. Get your speed up as fast as you can then pick your lane. He treated kick returns like punt returns, caught it, hesitated, then decided where to run. Punt returns are different.

imo he shouldn't have played til next week except for allowing him to fair catch kickoffs. let him get some experience against Grambling and the like first

Beyond pathetic.
And what makes it even worse is a head coach babbling bullshite for weeks about how Anderson was the "smoothest" most fluid punt returner he ever saw.
The guy was horrible but then again, when you play against our special teams and defense in practice, maybe you do look great.

I don’t disagree that he probably does look smooth and comfortable in practices but he tightened up last night.

Remember this kid has played very limited college football especially on that sort of stage

If you want to use that as an excuse, fine. But don’t tell me how great he is and put him out there week 1, then tell me he wasn’t ready because he is essentially a freshman.

Do you think Nick Saban would let this guy go if he was any good? If he was good, Saban would have used him enough and thus kept him at Alabama.

Hmm.
I think most of us probably showed up early, focused all day and stayed late, unlike our coaches and most of the players that got lost in a complete fog last night and quit in the 2nd half.
