Contaminated fuel in FL

If you're in Florida, the lesson here is to be careful about fuel, if you are topping off due to the hurricane. This is also generating activity among conspiracy theorists.

Maui is ripe for conspiracy theories, rightfully so. I've been looking at various youtube videos about the situation there, and it just gets worse and worse. Seems the government has put up opaque, black fabric fencing around some of the burned zones (ground zero type areas?), and they are finding entire families in cars, still a ton of children not accounted for...nothing there makes sense at this point. I don't blame anyone for thinking that the tragedy was orchestrated. It's a complete failure of government, at the least, and I feel bad for people there.

And now there's contaminated fuel in FL, that might affect people trying to evacuate or the use of generators.

The contamination was caused by "human error" at the Port of Tampa, according to a news alert from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The affected gasoline and diesel, supplied by Citgo, may have been sold at nearly 30 stations after 10 a.m. ET on Saturday, mostly along the Florida coast from the Tampa Bay region to Fort Myers. ...

"Basically it was just human error — they just put diesel in tanks that were supposed to be regular gas," DeSantis said...

Officials are still investigating how widespread the problem is....

I suppose everyone in FL should be careful about fuel purchases right now. To be honest, I don't know how you could figure out if you're getting contaminated fuel, on the spot, before filling up, unless you pumped some in a glass container before putting any in your tank. Hopefully no one ruins an engine or gets stranded.
