Was telling my buddy food plots an feeders will be money this year cus I’m pretty sure acorns will be non existent.

I thought the same, but I had 2 large branches from a water oak in my yard break off last week from the weight of the acorns. They were absolutely loaded.

In 2021 we planted in October and the plots turned out great. So now we shoot for the first week in October.

Weekend before duck season.

No need to be early on food plots.

Won’t even start looking at my calendar until we get some substantial rain. Probably going to be October before we plant this year.

We planted 3 weeks ago. The cactus is coming up nice. Seems like the conditions were ideal! Lol…

2nd or 3rd weekend in Oct has proved nice the last few years. Shapes up good for rut in January.

Statistically October is the driest month of the year. If at all possible I try to do it all in one weekend at the end of Oct / first of Nov.

I stopped planting plots for hunting and started planting for management. They just eat it all down at night anyway.
