If Bech is 3rd Team, that tells me TCU has some legit weapons at WR.

There’s a reason why Bech was a featured player on some of the worst LSU teams this millennium.

When LSU competes for titles, they have guys like Malik, JJ, Chase, OBJ, Jarvis, Reuben, Lafell, Early Doucet, Michael Clayton, etc.

Bech is nowhere close to that level.

If he's fully healthy, Briles might carve out a niche role for him because of his versatility. Good hands, good blocker, good possession receiver.
A good blocker can be the difference between a 7-yard gain and a TD on a running play. It doesn't get glorified or make headlines, so most are oblivious to it, but it's crucial to winning.

LSU also had Thaddeus Moss, Richard Dickson, Eric Edwards, and David Jones on those teams.

Charles Clay and Niles Paul made NFL careers out of niche H-back/TE/receiver roles. Look at how effective Taysom Hill is with the Saints in his niche role.

Of course you want explosive speed at WR. But you can also have guys like Bech with more versatile skill sets.

Bech had a better freshman year than all those players you named except for Clayton.
He had injury issues last year. So you can't really make a full determination relative to the careers of those other players.
