After a half Ironman back in 2018 I passed out in the post race tent and was brought to the med tent. My body temp was incredibly low (caused by dehydration) but even though they had fluids on hand they couldn't give me an IV because they had no way to warm the fluid and they didnt want to drop my body temp anymore.

shite got scary for a while as I was in & out of consciousness, really unable to formulate a thought much less speak that thought, freezing my arse off with temps easily in the mid 80s. Eventually a doctor put the bag in the sun and "guessed" when he thought it was warm enough to give to me
