So for beginners i would buy the cheapest thing you can find.... a knock off weber kettle or WSM..... cook on it... if you enjoy it... get something more specialty built.

The flip side is that if you get a Weber you will be able to sell it easily, even after 5+ years. If you buy a knockoff, you may not enjoy the experience near as much.

Does anyone still use a Pit Barrel charcoal smoker these days? I know it’s not the best or most roomy, and I am by no means a great smoker, but man I find it real hard to screw up anything I do on that thing.
