Because they will just turn black with mold/mildew within a year anyway.

Could that not be mitigated by a small cheap remote scrubber - like robot vac. Spray your roof prior or have it run in a storm .. This Merica we can figure this out

They used to sell them back in 1975 ish. Used them on a house I helped repair the roof. Looked like puke 2 years later.
