Amazing how people act like ungodly heat isn’t completely normal for summers in Louisiana. Only difference between this summer and the past few is this one has been really dry, which happens every few years

Statistically it is in fact hotter than normal

quote:

After the hottest June & July on record in Lafayette/Acadiana, we pretty much know that August is on track to obliterate the all-time record too, with an average high so far of 101.7° (normal is 92.3°) and an average low of 79.9° (normal is 74.7°) yielding an average of 90.8°...way ahead of the all time hottest month...and 7.3 warmer than the average of 83.5°! You'll feel the pain in your utility bill for sure. Other than a couple of days in the next two weeks, and barring any tropical surprises, it appears that we will continue to see mostly 100°+ highs to almost finish out the month!
