Why would anyone take a weekend trip to Jackson, Ms?
They have a very respectable gun show at the fairgrounds each month. Might have moved it to the Shriners hall because the mayor wanted to tax them for fire dept inspection before each show.

The only one left I know of is the one in Ridgeland and it opened in 1981. It's always been the best.
You need to get out more, Bro. There is one on H-49 in Pocahontas, right beside the rock and gravel sales place. Hard to miss. Just look for the big metal chicken in the parking lot. When you pass the Dollar General Store, you have gone too far north. Do a u-turn, go back to the south a mile and take another run at it.

Shedding a small tear here. Lived there for a nono-second in 2003. The Dock, Poet's, Last Call, Recovery Room, BWW, TimeOut, McB's, some liberal college bars on the bad side. Wasn't all that bad, but chicks only wanted to know where you went to High School.
That was 20 years ago. I hear some of those places are still open.
You should have been here 55 years ago when you could drive your Chevy Chevelle SS with souped up 396 to Westland Plaza and circle through Shoneys parking lot in the solid line of car cruisers, allowing the car right in front of you to get 20 feet ahead so you could lay 10 feet of rubber and still get it stopped before rear ending them.
Good days to live. All they know now is to cut donuts with smoking tires on some kind of Toyota in intersections, or race up and down State Street, I-55 or I-20.

It was on Woodrow at Bailey ext. I know that’s not a great area either but still a major surface street.

UMMC
Busy place.
There's been a shooting at UMMC in the last year or so, and a double shooting at Baptist a few years ago that killed 1 or 2 people.

Ridgeland is about to go downhill next.
The Northpark area of Ridgeland is that way now. I think it will stay confined to that area for a while, but eventually move beyond. At least the city has good leadership.
