So in Tennessee you can leave the safety of your home and go outside and shoot someone breaking into your car?? If you are in your car here it is like your house. Which means when the guy with the shovel, after hitting him with it, smashed the truck window he was probably fair game.

Interesting discussion, and interesting to see how different people see the situation. Could have easily had a few dead over this.

I think its more like, if you go out with a gun and that person has a gun or knife or "something in his pocket" and wants to fight/aggressive, you can blast away. And imo, thats the way it should be. But you can't just walk out there and shoot him as he's leaning over hot-wiring (unfortunately ).

This is for sure. I feel confident in the way I think about the situation from a moral and legal standpoint but also recognize about half the people feel opposite as I do. Usually when half feel one way and half feel another, the truth is somewhere in the middle. Guess that's why good lawyers make the big bucks.

Oh fyi, someone who is supposedly in MS law enforcement over on the OT thread said this situation wasn't about a deer it was a property line dispute. The vid has been passed around the leo circles for a while.
That would make more sense giving it looks like springtime. Doesn't really change much but just a correction.

Welp, I'm wrong.

Only if you are in the car. Then you can defend yourself.
