Sci-Fi: Star Trek "City on the Edge of Forever"

Comedy: Andy Griffith "My Fair Ernest T. Bass"

Drama: Band of Brothers (Tie) "Bastogne" and "Why We Fight"

This might be it for me. That song playing as they drive in the car and then… so haunting.

A number of great episodes in Hannibal and Whitechapel.

There were also some episodes of the Cumberbatch Sherlock Holmes that are some of the best television I’ve ever seen.

After I posted, I thought, "Why didn't I post COTEOF?"

I didn't have a good answer. Just as Pine Barrens is gateway Sopranos, City is gateway Star Trek, as you don't really have to know the show (although it helps, particularly the McCoy sequences) to appreciate how good this episode is.
