Hello, all. My first post. We'll visit family in Baton Rouge soon, and want to take a group of 4 for boiled crabs. Figuring the bulk of restaurants with boiled crabs will be around Pierre Part/Belle River, we're willing to make a trip of it. But, any suggestions for places to go will be much appreciated. A plus for a restaurant includes offering softshell crab poboys. Thanks!

I would not trust getting crabs from anywhere that isn't within 15 miles of the ocean. You're better off getting oysters in BR.

Drive to Richard’s in Abbeville…call and see when they open…get there soon after and see what big boys they have for the day.

The other day, I posted about Red's Restaurant on Hwy 22 in Maurepas, LA. They've always been good there.

Carbo’s. It’s on Hwy 77 south of Plaquemine going toward Sorrel.

Thanks to everyone who replied. We narrowed it down to Richard's, Red's and Carbo's. Heck, we might try all three!
