Gonna be a busy day at the dealership this weekend trying to trade out of those things.

Stopped somewhere in Southern Arkansas last week and they had a roughly 15-20 station setup at a gas station. Only car there was a Altima which I am assuming was there because the parking lot was packed.

Why did they all gather in that location?

We have two charging stations in my town that’s in BFE, in a parish with probably less than 100 in the entire Parish. I know that you have to pay for a charge, but what tax dollars this come from to build and maintain them?

I think those are hertz rentals. That's my understanding for the majority of Teslas there. Not many Tesla chargers in Nola area.

I asked a couple of dudes standing in the street next to their cars. A few of stations were down and that made a bad problem worse.
The AC comes on automatically when the car is off to keep the inside temp cool enough to protect the electronics from over heating. A hot as it is, it probably runs all day, grinding the batteries down even when they’re parked. I noticed a few out of state tags in the line, too.

When I sold cars, we had a used Tesla on the lot, mid August, and not as hot as it is right now. It was a pain in the as to keep it charged. We didn’t have a Tesla charging station to plug into so we plugged into a regular outlet. The charge rate couldn’t keep up with the power usage. Only gained on it at night. After fighting it for a month, we wholesale it.

Those Model 3's were great rentals when Hertz didn't care how much charge you brought it back with. Now, I won't touch one of those on a trip.
That line looks like a great way to miss your flight

Private companies like WD and Costco pay to put them in and make the profits. Don’t know if their is any tax incentives for them to do so, other then looking green in the corporate world to appease the idiots.
NOLA has a few in City Park, but don’t think they are Tesla brand.

Ive only stopped at a charging station once in my life and the stalls were empty.
People with ICE cars never have issues. They're basically perfect. Sometimes I marvel at how pleasant the people at Baton Rouge gas stations are.

quote:Should have turned off cabin temp protection. Should have got off the $500 for a 240v charger. Should have flipped through the manual. It's a really simple process to charge a Tesla, millions of people do it. What kind of shoddy dealership were you working at?

You do realize the cabin overheat protection feature is very easy to either turn off or modify the internal temperature so that less power is used, right?

For fricks sake. Why would one willingly add bullshite to their lives?

How do people have time for this? That looks like a several hour process. No way I could carve 3 or 4 hours out of my busy day to charge my car. Definitely wouldn’t want to do it on a road trip or family vacation.
