Dire Straits songs are always a couple of minutes longer than they should be. Sultans of Swing is almost 6 minutes long and Money For Nothin is over 8 minutes long. The songs get too repetitive and wear out there welcome.
I just do not agree with any part of this post

underrated tune on a fabulous album. Don't think I've ever heard it on the radio.

I just do not understand that argument. If you like something, the more the better
You got it all wrong. Love long songs. I’m a Rush, Floyd, all that fan. That music is interesting the whole time. Those Dire Straits songs get repetitive and boring.

Credit to Walk Of Life though. It’s about right.
Meh, probably my least favorite of the DS hits, so maybe there is something to the bit longer songs. I get what you're saying about Money for Nothin', but Skateaway (album version) doesn't feel like an almost 7 minute song (although, admittedly, I've probably heard the radio edit far more times, which is about 4 3/4 mins).

Title song is awesome.
Agreed. It is particularly poignant (IMHO) for those who have served in uniform under difficult conditions.
