AA Boarding UPDATE

Do I need to buy the priority boarding for $36? My seat is on the exit row but I am in boarding group 5. The plane is a 777-300, is it likely the overhead spaces will be taken by the time I get on?
The bin above my seat was full when I boarded. Luckily I found an empty one in front of my row so I didn’t have walk to the back.
For those that think SWA boarding sucks, at least they make you stand in a straight line. This was ridiculous as everybody no matter what boarding group all crowds around check in guy. This is the true cattle call. Cows all trying to get thru the gate at the same time.

No way, I think there's 9 boarding groups on AA so you're right in the middle AA boarding page
Also taking a guess you're flying internationally on the 777-300 so most people will check bags

Thanks Cuse. DFW-LHR. I usually go BA with checked bags but this is a short trip.

If they are flat put them on their side to create space for your bags. People are idiots when using the overhead bins.

I still don't understand why they don't assign one overhead slot per seat and number them accordingly. You get your slot. Period.

Major problem with all Airlines is people in the high groups crowding the gate. The other issue is people with older kids and even teenagers trying to get on when the call for people who need assistance boarding.

And people trying to use bags that should be checked as carryon.
