...but she's still completely competent to make decisions affecting you and me.

She should have stepped down long ago.
But power of attorney can mean a lot of different things and be set up different ways. It's not really fair to use it as evidence of current incompetence.
I mean, there's so much other evidence of her incompetence.

I agree. fricking ridiculous.
We shouldn't be electing octogenarians (or that will become one during his/her term) to huge position of power.

I feel like being legally competent should be a pre-requisite for serving in Congress. But then again Fetterman has been wandering around Capitol Hill for over 6 months now so we know that’s not true.

Who will tell Murkowski how to vote after Feinstein kicks the bucket?

Its pretty much undeniable that she’s senile and is incapable of doing the job anymore.
Its logical that she could’ve given her daughter POA out of convenience to help handle her personal affairs at home in California while she was busy in DC. Especially since Feinstein’s rich husband died last year, so maybe the POA was so her daughter could handle estate/succession issues on Dianne’s behalf while the senate was in session.
POA doesn’t necessarily mean someone is incompetent to manage their affairs.

I’ve had power of attorney for my mom for a couple of decades. She’s 89.
She took care of all of her affairs until a stroke two years ago, when I assumed responsibility for her affairs.
She’s recovered nicely and is fully capable of taking care of her finances again.
Since I set up everything electronically during her stroke recovery, she has no need to write checks and pay bills anymore.
Biden needs a POA , clearly. So does Fetterman and Feinstein. I loathe Pelosi. I’m not sure she needs one just this minute, but the time is near. Look at all she accomplished: two impeachments, J6 setup, weaponization of government, with unanimous Demorat support and GOPe complicity.
What has a cogent McCarthy done?
I’ll wait for a cogent response.

The opposing party should have the right to have any Congressional member tested for mental dementia.

I'm glad she's around to see Bruen and its effects.

It is not unheard of for people to have a POA for a family member in the event that they are unable to make decisions for themselves. Feinstein has already reached that point and should resign as she is clearly incompetent.

I can't help but be pissed off when it comes to the fact that we - as a country of 330 million people - continue to elect these decrepit and out of touch elderly skinbags to represent us. It's been totally forgotten amongst the American populace that our government officials are OUR employees and are there to be OUR voices. We literally hire them and pay their salaries, they work for us.
Instead we've had this power shift where the average American views politicians as something like their "bosses" and the ones that control their lives, instead of the other way around. We are actually their bosses and *should* control them, if the system was working as designed. It was never meant to be this way

I thought it was Pelosi not Feinstein.
Feinstein needs her poa to take over. She’s done.
Pelosi POA should get ready in the bullpen.
