Utah lacks culture. Nothing but milky Melba toast. Do they have etouffe, crayfish, and marching parades? I think not.

Yawn-boring {Sarcasam}

And I still don't think you can get liquor at SLC airport. And the tap beer is all some Utah local shite that is like 2.5% alcohol or something. Might otherwise be a great place to live but who wants to live in a place where you can't get smashed at the airport on your layover?

if you lived there, you'd never have a layover there.

Wrong on a couple of fronts. First, the near-beer thing no longer exists. Second, try White Horse at the SLC airport or any number of brew pubs if intent on getting hammered at the airport.

Only weird liquor law that exists today is that you can’t get a double when ordering a cocktail.

BUT, offsetting that negative is a huge positive in that every restaurant has to allow you to bring in your own bottle of wine (and most do not charge you a corkage fee).

I was in Utah on business a few years ago. I was in the hotel bar and asked for a makers on the rocks, splash of water.
She barely even put whiskey in it, or at least what you typically get in a drink back home. I asked her if she could make it a double instead. She looked at me and said, 'you aren't familiar with Utah liquor laws are you?"

I gave Salt Lake City a look before deciding on Boise. Utah is too Mormon for me.
