Time will tell, but South Lake Charles was pretty stacked.

Yea but we didn’t win.
If we get all the 11u major and aaa kids to play league next year, will be extremely strong. But highly doubt they all do.

Sorry, meant the South Lake Charles team from about 15 years ago.

To the comment about travel…all the kids on this level are essentially travel only kids except for their little league 12u year and sometimes 13u. For many kids this is their travel 11u and 12u years as the little league dates usually have kids playing a year up vs travel.
And you must play certain % of games to be eligible for all stars. For little league supposed to be 60%. Usually the travel kids play the min amount and only do the 1 year, then go back to travel.
Alot if that is the competition level, but also the rules for little league and Dixie youth suck. Closed bases after 9 is laughable and pitching from 46’ at 12 is dumb

That’s how I took it, still didn’t win. East bank has to be considered better because of that

Ahh, nothing better than singing this chant on a Thursday afternoon, getting ready for some Galvez Middle football lmao.
Mrs. Embry was the goat of principals. She had everyone hyped up for some middle school football after leading the rooster chant.

I can see it until 10 considering 9-10 play together in rec leagues.

100% It's absurd.
However, the biggest silliness for DYB traditional majors is there is no dropped third strike.
My daughter could take leads on the release in CP softball at 7. Had dropped third strikes at 9. Twelve year old boys in traditional majors? nope. Totally dumb.
Kids will play elementary school ball with open bases, 80 foot bases, mound distance of 54 feet in Febraury-March, then go play DYB majors and pitch from 46 with closed 60 foot bases. smh.

Y’all must be pretty young. We did not do this before games

What years were you there?

Early 90’s. When Benny Babin showed up and we started winning parish championships

This Trey Bailey kid for AP is a stud.

97-01 here. We won a football championship my 8th grade year and should have won basketball too.

My 8th grade year was 93-94. I don’t think we did anything in basketball really. Pretty sure prairieville won it a few times

All these comments about travel kids being better than rec kids dont know what theyre talking about. travel teams stack teams in rec leagues all the time and then the all star team in rec is essentially kids from a bunch of travel teams.
pelicans put their kids in leagues along side kids that never picked up a bat before they showed up for the first practice. the all star teams you see on tv are all travel kids I assure you and they play all the regular season games too.

They played travel for Shane Aderholt. He also coached a lot of em in the 13 majors out at Clouatre park. He picked up kids from the other majors teams
None of these kids played Majors, about half of these kids played for Ascension Select AAA and then they picked up other players from other AAA teams. I know this because my son played against a majority of them
Every kid on the team had to play in the league and then from there they pick an all star team to play in the state tournament and then regional tournament

I hate the 12 batter rule
I hate the closed base rule. That's what 8yr olds should do; not kids about to play middle school baseball.

Yep, any team making it to llws is made up of 99% travel kids that go back for 1 season. East bank was all travel kids….Lafayette was the apex majors team essentially.

Ascension 13's got beat again. Everybody posting on FB and shite. lol

Quite a few of them played in the majors league. I’m sure they did do the select as well. It’s what the kids do. And the ones that didn’t play majors just played in the normal 13-14 league out there. I recognize quite a few of em
