Not in my experience.

Had washer/dryer set and about every 6-9 months we had something going bad in the one we had.

Had to replace the felt on the drum twice at $100-150 per time. 3rd time it happened I got pissed and threw it out. I still have parts that I had ordered in case something else went out (not the felt though).

Went with Speed Queen and happy since.

And yours is one of many but regardless, most of the outlets following the stuff have LG rated highest and even higher than speed queen with regards to quality and reliability over the last few years specifically for laundry appliances. They are clearly not trash these days.
