I remember hearing when Miles was hired from some of my buddies from Big 12 territory that Miles' loyalty would doom LSU because he was going to bring his shitty D coordinator/drinking buddy from OSU who was terrible. I think his name was Gibbs.

They were shocked when Miles went out and got a big name guy in Pelini. They were shocked again when he made a great hire with Crowton after Jimbo left.

Co DCs are the only bad hire he's made since he's been here. I have faith that he'll admit the mistake and move on. I don't think he'll let friendship get in the way of business, just like he didn't with his buddy from OSU when he went and got Pelini.

Those Big 12 guys were wrong before, and I think most of you will be proven wrong in the near future.

Most accounts were that he really wanted Clay but was forced by the fan reaction and admin's to go another route.

Why don't the admin's and alumni just force his hand again.

That's it. Thanks. Couldn't remember his name.

That makes an even stronger argument that he'll do the right thing here. He really wanted his buddy, but understood that there was more at stake and that he had people to answer to.

Again, I think he'll make the right move here.

He better ditch his "loyalty" before it gets him canned like De'anordo!

Again, that's why I think he won't let loyalty get in the way. It would be one thing if he just didn't bring Clay and wanted someone better. But you guys are suggesting that he REALLY wanted one guy and felt loyal to him, but made the tough professional decision to go another route. I think that is a good sign.

But he really wanted to make a hire from within when he hired Crowton, but was convinced otherwise.............

I love it when people just make shite up. Everything bad that has happened has been Miles' fault, but everything good has been something that someone else forced him to do. Thanks for the info.

Miles desperately wanted the job and had very little power. Skip was able to control him.

Now after a BCS title and a big salary Miles has more power, a bigger head, and might not be as controlable.

First of all, I'd love a source of all this information. And no, "everyone knows that" doesn't count.

And if Miles has been forced on all of this other stuff, then why do any of you doubt that he will simply forced into getting rid of the co DCs. Why all the panic if he'll just do whatever they tell him to do?

Also, it was a choice. He could have stayed at OSU. He made the choice to come here even if it meant severing personal ties. That's my point. He can put business over friendships.

Yeah, because all coaches tell the media exactly who they want and exactly who they are going after.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe he didn't talk a lot about Crowton because he wasn't sure if he could get him? Or because Crowton already had a job at Oregon?
