Taking my mom on a quick trip to Savannah in mid-August. Will be there Sat-Tuesday.

Never been to Savannah. She's into museums and design/decor. Really it's an excuse for us to go spend some time together.

Planning to stay at the Hyatt Regency or JW Marriott. Any advice for food, activities, etc. is appreciated.

Should we hit one of the Islands as well (Tybee/Hilton Head?).

Favorite restaurant is the Pink House but I would rather spend more time in Charleston which is not far away.

Not sure if price is part of your consideration, but I would 100% do the JW before Hyatt Regency.

There are a ton of old, historic (some “haunted”) homes there that you can tour. All of their names are escaping me at the moment but a quick google search should do you good.

It’s going to be hot as hell.

And yea JW over the Regency is an easy call if price doesn’t matter.

Do the Segway Squares Tour. Nice way to see that end of the city. We drove out to Tybee one day and had the low country boil at The Crab Shack.

Tybee. If its not overly boiling hot, AJs Dockside has decent food and is on the marsh/channel.

The lighthouse would be a must. Perhaps the fort if she likes Civil War stuff.

SeaWolf on tybee is a great bar/oyster spot. Especially for the design minded. There are a lot of just okay meals to be had - with the Greyhound being the most overhyped of them all, though the decor is solid.

The SCAD museum is probably decent and their fine arts museum is good for its size.
