That's Peggy.
She only thinks of Peggy and what's in Peggy's best interest. From aborting Pete's baby to ditching Don who made her. Remember, everything to Peggy is an opportunity.
Joan turning on Don is understandable.
She pimped her Cooze to get Jaguar and Don flushed the account down the toilet in an infantile tantrum of pride and ego.

She got extremely rich in the process. It wasn't some altruistic sacrifice. And they were losing that business no matter what.

She got what she wanted out of that deal. The cooze was a sunken cost. Losing Jaguar was inevitable and also a benefit to her for not having to see that scumbag again and also avoiding any chance he may demand another romp.

And she got a partnership out of it.
Her anger at Draper was ridiculous. They needed conflict and that apparently was the best they could come up with.
Show is excellent overall but I never cared for the direction they went in this instance.

Peggy (who I also dislike) didn’t abort Pete’s baby. She gave it up for adoption.

Yea, I really ended up hating Peggy. I felt a little sorry for her early on because she was so damn ugly, but it ended up that her personality was even uglier.

It's the 60s. Nobody was going to give her opportunities if she didn't take them.

Underrated Draper moment. Anytime I’m feeling a little underappreciated at work, I kick myself in the arse by reminding myself of this line.
