Do you actually think that if the little guy didn't raise hell to politicians about unsafe working conditions that the government would actually take the lead in protecting said employees with their safety at work? Corporate money greases the hands of politicians, we all know that but politicians realize that it is the working class that gets them elected so the pols have to listen to them.

That's the upside to a union imo


Safety my arse. The largest pilot union in the US, ALPA, has fought to keep pilots that have shown up for work drunk or high on drugs in the cockpit.

I believe you're stretching the truth there a tad. I'm thinking the union doesn't want anyone to lose their job over failing a drug/alcohol test. You really expect us to believe that union is saying it's okay if their pilots are under the influence while in the captain's seat? I don't.
