Convicted in district court. Judge recommended year in jail and $18k fine. She is appealing to circuit court for jury trial.

Can she even appeal for a jury trial if she already provided statements admitting guilt? (I don’t know the law)

A bit on the light side. I'd prefer a $100k fine. If she can't pay the fine, she's stays in jail and works it off making license plates.
