What’re the laws, in and out of state, for car window tint?

Putting some ceramic on a car tomorrow and I can’t decide on percentages for the sides and back…not doing anything on the windshield.

MS is 28% / 28%
LA is 40% lol / 12%
AR is 25% / 10%
TX is 25% / any
AL is 32% / 32%

I’m thinking 35% sides, 20% back…gets you mostly legal in those states. The back window seems hard for them to check as well. 20% all around would look cooler, but that’s not really legal anywhere.

I assume the laws are judged by the state you are registered in.

50 on the sides 35 in the rear on Louisiana.

Protip: Police agencies aren't really targeting those traffic laws much these days.

I have 10% all the way around and have been stopped at least 3 times and nothing has ever been said about it.

In college, I had 5% tint all around on my old Honda Civic for a few years.

JP, Kenner, Harahan, etc. loved the shite out of me. I had to go to traffic court a few times.

It was also a son of a bitch at night to reverse. I had to open my car door all the time. I’m glad I got out of that phase in my life.

What are you putting on the front window?

I think 10% looks best.

How difficult is it to see out at night while driving if you have 20% through out? Thinking about getting mine done.

You can just check the back of your inspection sticker.

I have ceramic 6% (what the cops meter read) all around with a windshield strip. Harahan cop gave me a tint ticket instead of a 40 in a 30 speeding ticket. Other than that I’ve been lucky
