With Nvidia doing so well is AMD a possibility? According to this article Nvidia ‘should have at least 90%’ of AI chip market with AMD on its heels.

Is there room for growth there?

interesting article...even if they don't make the trillion dollar club, looks like well positioned for a bright future in the next disruptive technology

If you can accept the risk of a business being in Taiwan, consider TSM.

I am in NVDA, AMD, TSM, and Qualcomm.

Since TSMC fabs all of AMDs chips, aren't you in the same risk with AMD?

That would apply to 90% of chips. Including Nvidia hardware... Intel... etc

Intel has their own foundry business, they build very little at TSMC.

However, outside of Intel everyone else is basically 100% reliant on TSMC

They use TSMC for their advanced chips bc they don't know how to do it themselves. Throw Apple in there as well.

Anyways, the point still stands. All chip stocks are open to the risk posed by chinese/taiwan relations... not just AMD.

I guess techinically you are correct, Intel is using TSMC to build its ARC GPUs on its 6nm process and soon to be 3nm. However, still a small part of the business.

The 13th gen CPUs are built at Intel. 14th gen will be split between Intel/TSMC as reported.

100%, but TSMC has been expanding outside of Taiwan rapidly these days. So be curious to see what happens there.

Personally, I don't get it. The only sure thing keeping them alive is their foundry and institutional knowledge in Taiwan . Once in the US, it would reduce any incentive we might have to stick our necks out for them on the island.

maybe they don't have a lot of faith that we'll do it

Have had nvda for 3 or 4 years. Hard to get out when it keeps shooting thru the roof. Reminds me of a Qualcomm run from 10 years ago. Hard to know when to sell.
