The Spyder line is notorious for paint chipping issues, especially on the older models.

I believe the introduction of the Hydroblast finish was supposed to help with it

I heard that from someone a while back when I was looking at putters. Ever since then I've noticed that every time I look through the used putters at any shops, the spyders always look like they have been neglected. I've heard numerous people claim that they baby their putter and always have the head cover on etc. but they still get the paint chipping. It's hard to believe for a premium priced club.
