Not really Pels related as we won't go after him but Woj is reporting that Portland won't cooperate with Dame and will search for the best return.

Certainly could be posturing to get a bigger return from Miami, I but I'd love to nothing more than to be wrong on this one and see a team finally do what's best for themselves and not send a star player only to the team he wants to go to.

It would kinda suck that Dame is where the line was drawn while unloyal dudes like KD and Harden keep getting to wherever they want to go but that's a small price to pay imo for teams to start dictating these situations.

Considering Miami has jack shite to offer and Dame did this AFTER the team gave Grant a questionable contract based on Dame returning, I don’t have a problem with this.

Dame should have asked out before the draft, which would have potentially allowed the Blazers to get additional pieces they wanted as well as Miami having additional pieces like Oladipo they could move instead of just Lowry and Robinson.

While that is idealistic and would be nice to see, the problem is the team trading for Dame.

If I'm trading for a player that is going to cost me a ton of assets and cap space, I'm going to make damn sure he wants to play for my team first. Nothing worse than getting a player that will become a locker room cancer since he doesn't want to be there.
